TERMS & CONDITIONS

PLEASE REVIEW THE FOLLOWING TERMS AND CONDITIONS CAREFULLY BEFORE ACCEPTING YOUR QUOTE.


BY ACCEPTING A QUOTE OR ESTIMATE FROM HARLAND DECORATING SERVICES, YOU ARE ENTERING INTO A CONTRACT AND AGREEING TO THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS OUTLINED BELOW.


'I', 'me' and 'my' means Harland Decorating Services. 'You', 'your' and 'customer', means the person who requested my services and enters into this contract.

YOUR QUOTE

Your quote is valid for 30 days. The final invoice may differ from the quote due to unforeseen issues and additional work requests (for example, late requests for dark-coloured paint or changes from water-based topcoats to the application of more time-consuming oil-based topcoats).

CANCELLATION AND POSTPONEMENT POLICY

As a small business, I appreciate the support and trust customers place in me for their decorating needs. Consistent work from reliable customers is vital for the sustainability of my business. Last-minute cancellations lead to lost income and significant financial challenges. It is with regret that because of a few last-minute cancellations I have felt it necessary to implement these terms.


CANCELLATION RIGHTS


You may cancel your decorating work within 14 days of accepting your quote without penalty. Please notify me by email or recorded mail using the contact details in your quote. For more details, visit the Citizens Advice website.


After 14 Days: Cancellations incur a 25% fee of the total quote to cover lost time and resources.


Short Notice (within 7 days): A 50% fee applies due to the difficulty of rescheduling and the lost income the cancellation will cause.


POSTPONING WORK


You can postpone your work for up to three months without a fee. However, if you postpone within 7 days of the start date, a 50% fee will apply.


Second Postponement: This will be treated as a cancellation, with the applicable cancellation fees.

PAYMENTS AND DEPOSITS

Projects over £1,500 may require a deposit, and those over £3,000 may necessitate a mid-project part-payment. Full payment of the final invoice is due within 5 days via bank transfer.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT

To ensure a smooth decorating process, please clear the areas to be decorated (including curtains and blinds where necessary). I am happy to help move furniture if needed.


While I take precautions, accidents can happen, so please avoid entering the work area. If possible, provide access to power, water, and toilet facilities. Let me know in advance if this isn't possible, as it may incur additional costs. I may request to leave tools and materials at your home; if so, please refrain from using them.

MATERIALS AND REMOVAL OF WASTE

I will provide all necessary trade-quality materials but cannot guarantee the quality of paints supplied by customers. I cannot remove waste from the decorating work, as I do not have a waste removal license. Waste will be placed in rubbish bags for you to dispose of.

PHOTOGRAPHY

I may use anonymous photographs of your decorating work for marketing purposes on this website. If you have concerns, please inform me.

Insurance

£1 million public liability insured. The certificate of insurance is available to download below. I do not drop radiators. I can assist with this task if needed, but will not be held responsible for any damage.
